An Aries Full Moon unlike most.... October 5th, 2017
*Preface: I did my best to write during a time where there was a lot of disembodiment, a lot of stuttered and staggered energy from current events, collective energy, and very ethereal intangible astrology aspects in the couple of days prior to the Full Moon in Aries while I was writing this. Aries is a force that teaches us how to get embodied so... if you're like me, and embodiment is a major life long lesson ( I'm learning Aries, through my Lunar North Node) it can be quite the learning curve to express Aries in written form. I hope the following makes sense to you and that you receive the message and energy intended. Happy Full Moon <3
“Suspend” is defined as being prevented from continuing, prevented from being in force or effect.
I write to you embodied in this now undeniable feeling of suspension that has been percolating within me for the past couple of days. But this does not feel like an outside force inflicting this upon me. It does not feel quite like paralyzation. It does not feel quite like anxiety. It doesn’t even really feel that frustrating (other than the fact that I really prefer to get my Full and New Moon blog posts completed and live asap!). As I write this the Moon is hovering in the sign of Pisces and also hanging out with Neptune, which is typically thought of as a mashup of energy great for creative and poetic pursuits.
But I’m writing about Aries, which is not exactly the most romantic poet around despite it’s visceral passion.
But this suspension feels…necessary.
Like an act of self care.
To be hones it feels more like an extended moment of levitation. Out of body, hovering, taking care of things somewhere else.
Levitation has long been associated with our spiritual state. While we may not be physically levitating above the ground, I have a feeling there are a great deal of us whom are sensing this lift off and this hovering above ground in some manner?
I’ve been reading plenty accounts of sleepiness and dreaminess the past couple of days. So yes indeed, this is not the typical Aries Full Moon that is full of go-getter-ness. There’s a different flavor to all this, there’s an evolved Aries being cultivated. If you know anything about Aries it’s the “baby” of the zodiac, pure fire, it’s all about Me-ness. It’s the major components of a personality.
Right now though, it’s almost as if something is needing clearing or processing on a different plane than this current one.
So I do wonder if anyone else is feeling this out of body sensation in some way too? Let me know. I’m very curious! Aries is a very individualistic sign, so you may be feeling completely different than what I’m sharing here. And so in that case, embrace this clarity of identity for yourself. Immerse yourself in that contrast.
What I’m really learning through this current experience of energy, is that suspension does not mean that you are not doing.
Something is certainly doing, but for right now it doesn’t really have words. It just is. Which is exactly why I have been struggling to write this piece, it’s all coming in disembodied. Which is interesting considering how Aries is one of the ultimate archetypes of embodiment, which is defined as “being an expression of of give tangible form to an idea, quality, belief, or feeling.”
The irony is not missed on me. I’m sure it’s a gigantic lesson in integration that is taking it’s sweet ass time to well …be embodied. This does makes sense as we are only about half way through the solar season that encompasses the 3 transformational signs of Virgo, Libra and Scorpio (August - November) and are experiencing a Full Moon of celebration and release within the Aries archetype, which is THE ultimate Personal sign of the zodiac. We are learning great lessons in being our selves within the world, and it can feel a bit discombobulated when we are fully with this process.
At this time Suspension/Levitation, for me, means letting this otherworldly energy process as it needs to. There’s a quiet knowing that’s there telling me this is happening so that I may become more embodied in this life.
But as we are suspended it is like we are hanging out with..something. It could be a particular feeling, a thought, a process, an action we’ve taken or witnessed, an awakening, a realization, a change…
Suspend does not strictly mean to stop, it’s more akin to lingering in certain state of being.
When I sat down to write this blog post I was not feeling the typical Aries expressions of hastiness, boldness, directness, or assertiveness. It was HARD to get started with writing this and continues to be. But there was an undeniable desire to protect and identify what I believe in the most. Which is part of the great Wisdom that this Full Moon in Aries can give rise to.
Aries is not a sign that one would typically describe as “suspended” in nature. Aries being the first sign of the zodiac, the youngest, the fresh meat ready to blaze through it all. It’s eager, it’s hungry, it’s like a baby vampire armed with insatiable desire. It’s a bit primal in behavior. It’s the match that lights the flame.
It’s the only sign that really focuses solely on taking ownership of the Self on it’s most core levels. It’s the core personality, the core being. It represents our self image, our drive, our passion, our identity. There’s a lot of physical energy to it. It’s involved with manifesting. There’s a lot of bold expression to be experienced through this archetype.
But one of the most beautiful things that it embodies for us and especially at this Full Moon are our core beliefs, what we stand by and for no matter what, what we believe in no matter what others say, it’s the flame that doesn’t go out no matter how much it rains, it’s the inner warrior that whispers to keep on fighting for the cause that animates us, even if the anger feels stifling. For we know that anger is really a byproduct of our beliefs being triggered through a perceived threat.
Aries is a weapon when well used for it teaches us how to take our anger and utilize it to direct us, energize us, and make change instead of merely inflict violence.
This is what lies just beyond this current levitated sensation that you may also be experiencing.
We know the clarity of belief and personal truth is right there, making it’s way to us.
Aries can offer us the contrast of anger as well as that gift of igniting our inner Warrior.
There is the unevolved anger which resembles haphazard rage, fury, indignation, and wrath which typically the form in which we see anger displayed actually.
Then there is evolved anger which comes more from a place of grief over the state of affairs thus provoking a lasered in, clear direction about what we want to do, create, manifest and put into action to change things, to improve things.
It’s that moment of getting so sick and enraged over the bullshit, we get up and DO something about it.
We need this pure motivation and bright flame.
But we also need this levitation and suspension I talked about as well to make sure this more evolved anger is able to take form for we have practiced compassionate temperance with ourselves.
This is not about waiting and seeing and then brushing it all over. Hoping it goes away, or someone else fixes it. This is truly about letting the next level on consciousness come through so the action we take can be as strong as it possibly can.
See this Aries Full Moon knows how powerful it is. It knows that anger is weapon in and of itself. It knows that danger is real.
It knows that impulse can lead us to many beautiful things when tempered, but also great horrors too when followed foolishly.
This Full Moon is met with strong Libra energy coming from the Sun, Mercury and Vesta all hanging out there. Libra is the sign of harmony, balance, of awareness of the Other, or relating, of weighing options and decisions, of thinking confrontation thoroughly through.
All of that strong Libra, which is heavily influenced by Venus, the planet of love…is SUCH A GIFT AT THIS INTENSE TIME.
I see this opposing Libra and Aries energies as a way to move into a more evolved sense of Identity for we are deeply aware of the ME, but also highly conscious of the WE. I don’t get the sense that we want to give everyone the middle finger, I get the sense that we really really desire to fully claim our personal needs, share them, and also facilitate an experience where Others can claim their personal needs just as equally. So there is deep honestly at the round table and no more pretense that leads no where and leads to conflict that is not constructive at all.
As time goes on we are being stripped of pretense over and over and being stripped down to a fierce nakedness.
And so there is yet another paradigm coming through for us to witness.
There is so much going on in the world right now, day after day it’s as if there is a mirror popping up showing us what we stand for, what we believe in, what we fight for at the end of the day. And sometimes it’s fucking ugly to see this reflected back. Sometimes it’s beautiful. Often times it’s both at the same time.
Hopefully though as it brings us to our knees, it also reminds us what is truly worth fighting for.
Just about a week ago, I was writing the Full Moon in Aries Moon Guide and I thought of the following dialogue between Samwise and Frodo in Lord of the Rings, which of course I didn’t think would become even more relevant yet again after another terrorist let his anger out on group of concert goers in Las Vegas.
“Frodo : I can't do this, Sam.
Sam : I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn’t. Because they were holding on to something.
Frodo : What are we holding on to, Sam?
Sam : That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for.”
I can’t tell you what is worth fighting for. It would be hypocritical of me to do so if you really think about it.
Belief is very individual as we have seen.
Yet that is also what is so beautiful about it. We weren’t put here to be carbon copies and to be actors of human existence.
Solidifying what you stand for, what you believe, what you will fight for to the death, who you are and how you behave when it comes down to being covered in “the blood of strangers” or when it really comes down to “it” in general (whatever it is to you) can be the ultimate clarity and freedom for the Self.
Which is the message this Full Moon in Aries really wants to express to us ultimately:
Know who the fuck we really are.
Work to have this core identity developed, owned, embodied, and consulted with, as you move through life.
Have this energetic arsenal within that is unfuckwithable no matter who or what is coming at you.
Embrace this simple wisdom: Who you are is allowed to evolve as well. And it likely will as we move through life (the zodiac wheel).
There will always be some core, some center, some personal identification factor that remains and never withers.
And this Full Moon stands to expose that to you.
To show you how to not betray yourself.
To show you how to fight for what you believe because at the end of the day, you simply can’t shake off your personal Truths.
This Full Moon sends the message to stop pretending to be the people we are not.
I could get into all the intricacies of the Astrology of this time (which I do in the Guide if you want to know more detail) but what I most want to leave you with is these essential questions:
What are you fighting to embody?
What Truth are certain you need to live out?
What are you fucking fighting for?
