🌙 Ceres -> Scorpio 🌙
11/11/11 Day & Ceres moves into Scorpio until the end of January. Ceres is most widely known as the Mother Earth Goddess Asteroid. She has been in Libra since early September as a reminder to nurture ourselves through the act of beautification as well as the act of relationship connection. But Ceres tells a tale of Loss and Abundance with her always. Since September we may have felt like we lost our sense of beauty, and we took action to rectify that. We may have felt a sense of loss in relationship - an explored what we could do to fill up the stores once more. Furthering the feminine conundrum of this time; Venus has been retrograde since early October through the signs of Scorpio and Libra (she will go direct this week on Friday). So I feel there is a Ceres Venus cross over here a bit - they passed each other not too long ago - it’s as if Venus said “take this with you Ceres”. “This” being everything you learning about Power dynamics within relationships, harmonization, balance, intimacy, self worth, self esteem. Because Ceres is said to be an even MORE active form of Goddess energy. She rules over the sign of Virgo - which is known for it’s Practical magic and it’s desire to “do” something.
Venus was a bit more alluring in nature - we may have contemplated much in the areas of Scorpio and Libra for the last almost 40 something days and now that Ceres enters Scorpio for the next 3 months, and soon Venus will rejoin her…we can begin to take the real body centric steps we were in preparation for. Ceres, according to Demetra George, encompasses areas of life that are concerned with unconditional love & acceptance of the self, valuing our self image, acting in alignment with our self worth, feeling comfortable in our ultimate sense of “home” - our bodies, eating foods that are aligned with cycles of harvest - and yes therefore those cycles of death and regeneration. These are all the external steps we take to act in accordance with nourishment and nurturing. Ceres under the skies of Scorpio brings forward the polarity of Taurus and Scorpio - and reiterates the themes of death and transformation.
As Ceres works on us here - she is asking us to take action in some area of our life that calls for a death and renewal. It is Scorpio Season - and we just ended Jupiters year long stay here - BUT we still have some work to do to refine what we’ve unearthed from the shadows of our psyche.
Ceres is an asset here as Scorpio - though quite powerful - can be subtle and hide in the shadows - sometimes it stalls a bit too long. This encourages us to strike. Ceres wants for us to take some really hard steps though: the ones that initiate intimate bonding, the ones that explore our kinks in sexual expression, the ones that align with how Powerful we know ourselves to really be, the ones that act like they’ve been through hell and back with something to show for it, the ones that relish in the balance between sweet surrender and grounded control. If we’ve been through the some shit over the past year and have acquired a deeper emotional literacy than even before, Ceres says share that wisdom with those special others in your life so they may too reap the benefits. Ceres in Scorpio can be extreme in the body experience department; wanting to feel it all or feel nothing. The type of sensational foreplay that leads to full body orgasmic release and then a sense of floating and gliding afterwards.
Yesterday I had this absolutely clear desire to be surrounded in physical darkness. I just wanted to see nothing but blackness - I had to experience it - I HAD to give myself it - it felt nonnegotiable and so I did just that for most of yesterday. It still felt almost..sexual in a weird way. And that is the effect that Ceres in Scorpio can have on you - things feel deeply sexual - like that drive you get when you’re ovulating. We may realize that relationships serve as agents of change and if they aren’t helping in metamorphosis - what are they doing? What can we do to nudge them there or leave them behind? If we are not in intimate relationships - there may be more of a desire to transform our bodies in some way - in appearance - in health.
Scorpio is very determined, passionate, and can often times love the feeling of how muscles are torn and then repaired; so exercise may get a leg up and foods/substances that serve to either kill off something and then repair may be the preferred choice.
We have to watch out for a few things though as we are more apt to take action on these urges: risky sexual behavior that puts our health in jeopardy, things like miscarriage or needing an abortion, the effects of birth control or the many choices we face there, eating/working out in extreme ways that destabilize our bodies and minds, acting foolishly upon our jealousy, envy, or need to isolate, withhold as a means to control. There are also themes of abuse that can arise.
Overall this transit stands to be one that helps us finally ACT like we are powerful human beings. It can help us believe the spells we are casting my really engaging our bodies into these rituals via many angles other than at our altar. We can make the call to go to Therapy or try a new form of it that will help us access something deeper or finally touch upon a wound. Things that may have made us feel powerless, this could go all the way back to childhood and dealing with our parents. I do keep on having PTSD symptoms flashing across my psychic screen - but keep in mind as well there are many forms of mini trauma that we encounter through life - particularly the kinds where we deny our particular needs to feel safe, secure and comfortable (the realm of Ceres). We may also instill the teachings of occult magic more readily and dabble with those seemingly “dark teachings”.
One of the lines that stood out to me that I will leave you with as Demetra George described the Natal placement of Ceres in Scorpio in her book “Asteroid Goddesses” was this: “Self acceptance may be gained through transforming one’s own inner negativity & lack of trust (Scorpio) into the healing power of love (Ceres).”
May Ceres in Scorpio FINALLY be that intense push we’ve been waiting for to act in accordance with the Powerful Witch archetype we KNOW we possess. Enough pondering about it - let’s get to it. It’s long overdue for some of us! <3
p.s This 11/11/11 Vibrational Day is supporting us to clear out and manifest as well. 11 being a highly spiritual number and one that represents the love between light and dark, between the internal and the external. A powerful bridge to help us actualize a new transmission and change.
