The New Moon in Gemini glides in on Wednesday June 13th, bringing with it a gracious opportunity to embrace with the multidimensionality of being human. Gemini opens the channels of communications towards many ports of information, many ports of being, many ports of education, of identity, of energy, of life. Gemini is an anchor for misunderstanding from the collective because of this ability to bend, twist, turn, change, and fly - on the surface level it can be seen as unreliable, flakey, two-faced and inconsistent. Which is a truth of being in a shadow expression of this sign. But Gemini holds so much power when we move beyond the uncomfortability we hold towards this ability to change so rapidly.
In a weird way we see Gemini manifested quite often: the influx of rapid information sources, the fake news, the instant gratification, multi-tasking, endless options, endless communications at our fingertips, and rapid changing streams of trends. We DO indeed have a great familiarity with Gemini during these modern times of the Information Age and our capabilities of always being in touch which others - our immediate environment is often full of more energy than it was before - more things to do - places to go - people to talk to. And yet, in Gemini fashion, there is misunderstanding into this signs gifts.
Gemini helps us produce ideas. Helps us remain open to the unpredictability of life, of people. It keeps us on our toes. It’s the “you never know”. It’s the curiosity that helped create the Googles. It’s the urge that helps us gather more insight about the areas of life it touches. It helps us ask questions, and then ask better questions. It helps us express, commune, talk manifest, speak spells, write out our thoughts, talk our thoughts. On a soul level, it supports us in embracing the spectrum of sides to each and everything inside of us and outside of us. We have a view of the light and the dark of all things. We have awareness of the contradiction each cell of our body and being holds. We hold awareness of how we can so easily believe one thing to be true, and the opposite thing to also be true.
We live in a paradox of energy. Gemini is one of those archetypes that supports our intimacy with such a truth.
Gemini urges us to find our multidimensional peace.
Gemini urges us to remember that we can never truly know someone, or predict their behavior.
Gemini reminds us not to box them in, not to box ourselves in.
Gemini reminds us not to assume we know everything about the inner workings of someones mind.
Gemini reminds us not to assume we know exactly what someone means based on their words.
Yet be reminded of the power of how we use words to program information into the collective and personal computers of our body, mind and soul.
Gemini reminds us of the ability to be “all over the place” and yet still find some semblance of sense and resonance like a clever poem, that weaves a whirlwind story and at the end tells a distinct tale.
All tales tell the story of being Human. All tales contain several characters, even within ONE being. And that is quite the human condition, isn’t it - to be all things and one thing simultaneously.
What. A. Trip. To know so much, and yet know nothing.
Such is the enigma that Gemini is.
Gemini is still an archetype I will be working on within myself for a long time - some of my favorite people (or at least the ones I find interesting) happen to have this Sun Sign: Banks, Marilyn Monroe, Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman, Fairuza Balk & Robin Tunney (both of The Craft), Judy Garland, Gene Wilder, Kat Dennings, Isabella Rossellini, Nicole Kidman, Lana Del Rey.
How utterly mysterious are this trope of alien human beings? Of course they all have their own unique expression of Gemini energy - but look at how well each of them have played through the craziness of Hollywood - some ending with tragedy of course - but all of them have left such a mark.
The New Moon in Gemini gives us an opportunity to embrace our many faces, and do so without apology. Often time our world loves to demonize inconsistency as label it weak. And while that can be true - it also leaves us beholden to the temptation of dogma (something Gem’s opposite sign of Sagittarius can fall into - despite it’s “open minded” reputation). As a society Dogma is seen as Confidence and Changeability of Belief as Unconfident. Thank you to my friend Brenda J. King for pointing this concept out. And again, while like most things - there is truth to that, it also breeds a programming of guilt for questioning information and for changing our beliefs as new insight comes forward - what this leaves room for is Dogma that gets us stuck in a mode of belief that turns detrimental and boxed in (one of the dangers of religion).
Gemini makes room for the channels of challenging beliefs to come in, and write the new ones if they need to be written. It provides us the opportunity to rewrite, revise, reinvigorate with fresh air. It allows us choice. It allows us to try things on for size. It allows us space to grow, to move, to stretch.
But we have to get out of our heads too with this. Gemini is a Air sign, a “masculine” one (although it’s more androgynous to me), and sometimes we can get stuck around in cycles of indecision and unproductive choice if we stay “up there” too much - the energy can just bounce around like ping pong balls causing a racket of overwhelm.
Or worse = just sheer immature fuckery and salesmen gross behavior of confusing the prey (D.Trump is a fucking Gemini - and a horrible example of one - pure word vomit all the time and sounds like a man-child = lower Gem expression - fyi his birthday is at the New Moon pretty much - so his Sun will be blocked by the gorgeous dark moon - work your magic psychic witches - strike while his light is dark).
At the New Moon in Gemini, we will now be hosting this sign’s ruler, Mercury, in the sign of Cancer. It’s time to give voice to all things Cancerian in our life: our family relationships, our ancestral lineage of beauty and pain, the healing of your heart being understood and talked to and talked from within your relationships, the mothering voice/expression of love, talking to your Mother, voicing our many moods and being curios about the information they possess, our feminine logic, ideas aligning in our hearts, decision making from intuition, protecting ones mind and ideas from malefic programming.
The movement of Mercury into Cancer just the day before conjures a distinctly feminine vibration to this New Moon, as two Goddess Asteroids (Juno and Ceres) also make waves to this new Moon.
Gemini is often related to more “masculine” type expressions: it’s tech centered, it’s the researcher, it’s the student, it’s the speaker-upper, it’s the loud voice, it’s the business meeting, it’s systems of learning. Many of these things in our modern life have been associated (maybe even hijacked) with the masculine method. And yet Gemini - the sign of the Twins - is meant to display the wisdom of Yin and Yang - opposites - light and dark. Ironically (or maybe not) - the flexibility of such a sign feels quite Feminine - as the feminine is always going through many cycles of change and is often described as chaotic. Perhaps that’s the reason why so many of us are uncomfortable with Gemini and thus with the feminine - we’ve slapped on some weird “this is only” masculine associations with this sign - and therefore it doesn’t totally make sense and it won’t totally get into it’s higher expression with the integrations it needs.
This New Moon seems to be providing the conditions to allow more of the integration into our lives, and a foundation to build our intention upon, after all Cancer (the place where Gemini’s ruler, Mercury, is currently transit) has so much to do with giving our souls and bodies a place to land, and to build a life from. It’s the place we will do all this Gemini work. Gemini sparks our minds, our curiosities, it wants to take us places but in order to do that with effectiveness AND safety - we need someplace to call home, to get replenished, to feel protected, to feel taken care of, to do this work from, and to even do the simple things like eat. We need a place to commune, to brainstorm, to sit at the roundtable. We need heartfelt connections and support. We need to develop that confidence through understanding of the world around us and try to deprogram the dogma that may have been weaved through our lineage - we do need a place rest - to integrate - to think - to observe - to execute from. And it need not be “all out there” far and wide.
It starts at home. The ability to find peace with our multidimensional selves does often start right at home, when we get to observe on the daily, everyones different moods, ideas, and contrasts and find a way to love them anyway. And it need not be your blood family - it can be the one you created.
Just this past week, I received some experience in this. I traveled across the country to attend my Psychic Traning Graduation. I was with a group of 10 women - spending many days and hours with them and after 8 months of deprogramming the fuck out of weird women dynamics with them that can be so invasive to intimacy - when we arrived we could FEEL the difference - there was no not being able to be who we where or showing up inauthentically. All of us being so very different and the desire to find love in our contrasts. At certain points it was confrontational for me - it’s like my head was trying to find reasons not to love - to keep them away from my heart - to justify a reason to not like someone because they were so contradictory from the day before - ALL THE WHILE being aware of how I too can be so fucking like that. Coming back home now - I’m seeing my mind change about SO much that I’m like WHOA- this is weird and yet endlessly intriguing ( I have a lot of sometimes dogmatic Sagittarius in my chart!) And while, in many areas of life and justifiably so we must be watchful for hyper inconsistent behavior that feels shady or trickstery, sometimes…sometimes…and oftentimes…people are just people with changing minds and hearts as they evolve or with different conditions from the day before that change their moods - or they simply too are working things out within themselves about their multidimensional selves and that is nothing to be afraid of - but to be in awe of.
For me I think the definition of unconditional love and understanding comes from the essence of embracing the belief that we are all just Humans, trying to be Human together. And whether or not you are “with” someone and in relationship to them - will not change the fact that they…will go through many changes along side you as the agreement of being a human and a soul makes it so.
And what an eyes wide open healing and lesson that is.
This is the essence of Feminine Logic much of the time, for me, at least.
The sextile the New Moon in Gemini makes to Ceres in Leo and Juno in Aries truly mirror the above and support a distinct healing around masculine and feminine dualities and expressions. Ceres is the Great Mother, her energy shows us how to nurture and be nurtured, what helps us feel taken care of, what feels like a comforting elixir of protection. She also shows us the ability to nourish through the many seasons of life, how to provide for ourselves and others during the many stages of “lack” and “abundance”. In Leo we have undergone a long exploration about the nourishment creative self expression provides, the nurturance of joy, pride, fun. The fulfillment of feeling in love with something. The satisfaction of sexual union. The release of birthing a child, not literally and figuratively. She reminds us of how the essence of a Womb (whether or not you have one) is to create and destroy, and to hold the many cycles of life, to amplify and enhance and then to come back into quietness and ponderence. Right now she reminds us of the level of attention and recognition we require - in a balanced and integrated way - and then when we are looking far too outside ourselves for validation that we only need from ourselves in actuality Ceres in Leo teaches us how to think more about what we require to feel pleasure and joy.
The sextile from the Gemini New Moon is supportive in that it can help us develop ideas in how we can do this. What channels provide such a feeling? What places do we need to let our curiosity take us? What ideas want birth? What love do we want? What do we really really need to express to someone, or some place in order to feel the nourishment our heart has been asking for us? Sometime, truly, wants to be spoken from inside of our Feminine creature and be TRUSTED. We may also feel the urge to create environments all around in which we feel safer to do this, and provide that for others. Many feminine healing circles may come through thanks to this.
The sextile to Juno in Aries…Oh Juno..Juno has been a great power in our lives showing us the power of an epic Union, an epic Partner, an epic “Marriage” - and - everything it takes to get there and maintain it. The patience, the introspection, the though conversations, the working through the ugly feelings - things like jealousy and insecurity and intimacy. Juno is known to bring the partnerships we actually need the most in order to grow and learn. Juno in Aries has done a couple of the things: asked us what WE want from a partner, what a partner has been wanting from us, and how individuals can show up together in partnerships. In addition to that, it shows us how we take action (or don’t) within partnership. It shows us whether or not we’ve been showing up as ourselves, or as someone else. And indeed this can bring up our personal insecurities as Aries is very self focused.
The interaction between Juno and the Moon makes it clear to us that we want partnership where everyone feels safe to be who they are.
Quick demo: I’ll use the talk about brand new celebrity couple Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson. They are both young (24) and Pete has been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder - he released a statement about how despite this mental illness, he has every right to be in a relationship and have a partner - and that his illness does not automatically mean toxicity. Ariana and him seem to be creating an environment where they are experimenting with feeling safe to be as versatile and open as humanly possible about who they are within their partnership and find a way to create stability within that. ( They both have their Mercury and Sun signs in water signs so they will be able to find ways to talk about their feelings in more intimate ways than what we are looking at).
More of us are becoming aware that we have certain needs within our partnership that we need to talk about and start to get an idea about how to meet those needs and whether or not it’s actually happening. I know quite a few women in my life making the necessary space in their lives to invite this in, and it can mean taking a risk on expressing their love lives different than usual OR returning back to a method of expression they abandoned before they entered into partnership that they now realize they truly did need as a main component in feeling safe to be themselves. Likewise we become more understanding about how our needs shift and change overtime and can start to feel more comfortable that nothing will ever exactly remain the same when in partnership over time and space, and an ever evolving world full of programming.
We have such incidental needs in partnership - let this New Moon in Gemini awaken them.
The inclusion of so many Feminine archetypes and fem-wisdom within the undercurrent of Gemini whose known as more masculine in nature really makes me think about the role women play in the current healing of the masculine. It is no mystery that the masculine is absolutely going through a catharsis right now. Things feel wonky. Men (I’m using this terminology to highlight contrast - not gender labels) are going through some shit - and the collective hasn’t exactly caught up in terms of support systems to help them heal and deal with their feelings and the ways in which they express. A lot of times since women, or the feminine have a natural inclination in the language of emotion and intricate self awareness - they highlight and facilitate the healing that needs to be addressed - and they work the hell on themselves - often quite thanklessly and unrecognized for the contribution.
Perfect example of a Gemini fuckery moment: Men and Women at a conference table - Women suggests and idea that weeks later a dude suggests that he gets more respect and credit for after she was previously mistrusted for. She works on HER expression to be heard more clearly and respected next time. And he..does nothing to change his behavior. That is male privilege. She has to change her behavior. He does not - it may or may not happen by default - as if by magic if it does - it goes a little unconscious - while she has consciously dismantled her sub/unconscious through lots of emotional and mental work.
One of the phrases that kept on popping up while I saw the aspects of this New Moon in Gemini was said by Carmen Mariz Machado: “We accept women’s pain as collateral damage in men’s self discovery.”
And I really just felt the need to share that quote with you here as it seems to connect to these aspects in some way - even though I’m not entirely concise in why, I just felt it was a message to let you form your own personal ideas about right now and let it land as needed.
I’m starting to feel a wee bit of the jet lag mixed with an overnight flight start to really kick in once more from my trip so I’m going to start to wrap this post up and get some rest.
So I’ll leave with this: The Gemini New Moon makes a square to Neptune in Pisces very slightly and that can bring up some mental fog and confusion for some - some overwhelm or overstimulation - you may be receiving information from many environments - even the ones unseen. This New Moon is also a SuperMoon meaning it’s very close to the earth at this time - amplifying a combination of energy that asking you to turn within and conversate with yourself more deeply, and even with your sense of faith and connection to your universe.
Neptune is about to station retrograde - which as a collective can actually help lift any mist that has made something unclear - it does this very subtly and very slowly often times. Even though the square is difficult around this day - it can start to lift - or may even bring a surrender or peace around being confused no matter how hard that could be to understand around this time. So pay attention.
On my flight, I received a little taste. In the moments I was waiting to board - I just KNEW with certainty no one would be sitting next to me - that seat felt empty and full of space and I was correct - even as I nervously watched last minute people board - it was confirmed. It was a little moment of trust. I also see many more moments of Deja Vu ahead for us with this Retrograde - and how I see this phenomena is that it’s confirmation you are aligned with a path you are meant to be on. My entire trip to Portland felt this way.
Venus moves into Leo on this day for the next while enhancing our need to feel connected in our relationships and feel in love, and feel expressed. It truly seems like this New Moon carries an essence with it to get more free in relationship and express what we desire and need and to be very factual and honest about that. And to take our time with it if we really need to find our words or if it takes a few conversations to pin down and be understood.
I’ll write more about Venus’s Leo transit on Instagram later this week probably so check in periodically there for that.
For now I’m out! I hope that this New Moon allows a major healing around curiosity for you and more importantly a huge catharsis around the necessity of being a Multidimensional human and spirit, and how much courage it takes to embrace this - on a REAL mother fucking level - none of that fake ass “just be yourself!” level. Make it more real, for you.
