NEW MOON SOLAR ECLIPSE IN CAPRICORN
Sober Dreaming: Merging the Mystical & the Material
New Moon & Sun 15º Capricorn nestled in between Saturn & Pluto. We also have Mercury & the South Node in Capricorn at this time.
Solar Eclipse Sextile Neptune in Pisces
Black Moon Lilith & Vesta conjunct in Aquarius
The New Year kicked off with Mars moving into Aries on Dec 31st - sparking fires of passion. One of my favorite quotes is “All magic beings in arousal” from the TV show Salem. This has always been a phrase that reminds me of Mars - the assertive, forceful and vital planet that stirs us to action. Ruling over both Aries and Scorpio - bringing instinct and power to the front row.
It’s definitely quite the shift though that may have left you spinning and disoriented - Mars in Pisces is a bit more ..floaty, fluid and sensitive. Going into Pisces can be like hitting a river rapid and then going down a waterfall shooting to shore and into a pit of fire until we gather our footing. Okay - maybe that’s a bit dramatic but that’s how it felt for me!
A few days ago the Sun & Saturn conjoined in Capricorn bringing in more of a serious tone after the festivities of New Years wore off along with that initial Mars change - not that that energy is still not lingering but over the weekend as this Solar Eclipse comes through on Saturday (also known as SATURN day! The ruler of Capricorn) - we may start to feel the sobering energy of getting our shit together really sink in.
It’s not all all work and no play though as Neptune is the main aspect the Moon and Sun make during this time providing a softening to the hard edges of Capricorn/Saturn.
As I was feeling into this energy - it felt very straight forward thanks to the Cardinal Earth energy of stoic Capricorn. Solar Eclipses are not subtle. We become hyper aware of what’s needing to be let go of in order to allow something new to take root. The unconscious becomes way more fucking conscious and we may feel even more “drained” as this Eclipse urges us to be drawn within and face what has risen from the darkness.
The energetic mixture of the Moon in Capricorn is a bit tricky. The Moon is, as we know, very emotional by nature - linking us to our internal landscapes of feeling, nurturance, intuition, and how our body responds to such things. The Moon happens to rule the sign of Cancer - the opposite sign to Capricorn. Capricorn is a known for being responsible, practical, goal oriented and the master of obstacles - it’s bit more “tactile” minded - where the Moon is a bit more intangible minded.
The main message that I got here is that there seems to be some role reversal. Capricorn is needing for some of us to get real responsible with our emotional health - to center some of our goals on handling our shit in that way. To get real about how we are feeling - and facing what needs to occur to get into a better space. To take the feeling side of our life just as seriously as we do the career side of life. To treat it with the same respect and importance.
The Solar Eclipse says “Be an adult and deal with the emotional and ancestral roots of your misery.”
And for those of us whom have been on a journey in reclaiming our intuitive and emotional health - it’s time for us to step up to make the material world match the inner work. For the tactile results to come through, by finally taking those scary action steps to reach our dreams.
The inclusion of the dreams birthed from our imaginations comes from that Solar Eclipse sextile to Neptune in Pisces - the imaginative, cinematic awakener of our inner artist. This Eclipse is primed for taking action steps towards what we’ve dreamed up.
This is good news for those of us weirdo psychic witch bitches whom may have envisioned building businesses but kept on losing our footing as we addressed some deeper sets of programming that needed to clear in order to come from a place of more integrity as we pursued our ambitions.
Capricorn is the sign of Patriarch as we know it in the modern world. Capricorn upholds strong traditions and the “way things are”. It likes being about to set up systems that work - and produce goals. And this can be great as it always feels good to achieve or it can turn deadly to soul when the system no longer leaves us feeling good for more than 5 mins OR when it is sucking the life out of every other area of life. We need Capricorn - we need to know how to climb and over come obstacles - but we don’t need the Patriarch to stay the way it is.
SO the addition of Neptune winking at this Solar Eclipse can help us infuse our spiritual principles into our plans and perhaps dissolve some of the barriers that Capricorn upholds which don’t allow introverted, sensitive, “feminine” beings to thrive in the business world. We have an aspect here to help us slide into Capricorn’s DMs and change some minds.
The other way this aspect influences is this: Both Capricorn and Pisces are archetypes that encompass the habit of numbing. They both have stories of addiction weaved into them. As well as mental health issues.
Capricorn is often linked to depression, alcohol and work addiction. It’s a very dense energy that reminds us of limits. It’s one that has a rough time really feeling an emotion all the way through because it sees them as something that can get in the way - the feelings are the distraction - so they ironically think that a bit of alcohol to depress down the feeling will help with tomorrow or that filling their time with all the things means the emotion will solve itself. And sometimes we do just need to put things aside and get it done - but we can’t avoid it forever.
Pisces is linked to escapism, drug abuse, and other things that help us disassociate from reality. It’s a very diffuse energy, that can create existential overwhelm and drown us in feelings about reality. So we look to things that can help us turn that into “fun” either by over indulging in drugs or things that are highly artistic that bring a “high”, take us to another place that we think will inspire us to action. And sometimes we do need just that - a good Netflix binge to be reset and soothed - but we can’t avoid our responsibilities forever either.
This sextile can support to recognize and admit how we are approaching our life. Are we Capricorning or are we Piscesing? Are we doing both? In what areas of life? Are we doing the opposite of what we “should” be doing at this point. I.E do we need to be a bit harder on ourselves to heal and manage our mental health issues? Or do we need to be a bit harder on ourselves to manage our careers, ambitions and adult responsibilities?
The potential here for a good outcome is strong if we face what needs to be faced by welcoming in the Sober Dream this Solar Eclipse has to offer.
The Highly Sensitive Healers of the world that have been consciously addressing their spiritual, emotional, and mental health and doing deep shadow work (I.e if you’re all light and love - this lunation event is probably going to be a wake up call for your spiritual bypassing asses) will say to the overworkers, the intimacy avoiders, the emotional non-dealers: Get your shit together because it’s not okay anymore to only live for (insert any vice of choice).
The Responsible, Savvy, Manifester’s of the world that have been consciously addressing their spiritual and mystical sides - healthfully including their emotional health into the picture - will be encouraging to those psychic sensitive witches to gather their shit together because they have important work to do and get done in the world. And they will get another infusion of success in their lives over the next 6 months as well (about how long a Solar Eclipse can take until “full” manifestation” of the intent and unveiling of this time).
The one caveat to Neptune being involved is the potential to fall into that Piscean habit of being over compassionate. Use that Saturn to channel boundaries. The world needs our empathy, our understanding, our compassion, our hearts and our mystical attitude - absolutely - but we need not be blinded by the promise of potential.
Everyone is well off using the synchronistic influence of Neptune in Pisces for signs you’re on the right track, and the instinctive quality of Mars in Aries to heed any “off” feelings. It’s okay to listen with full compassion but still lay down the law with any necessary “no’s”.
We have a strong Capricorn stellium with this Moon and Sun nestled between stern Saturn and transformative Pluto, with the fateful Lunar South Node moving through Capricorn too; we are truly BUILDING and Rebuilding right now, we are living out major karma to get rid of what has not worked about the architecture of our personal and collective systems.
Structures and realities are crumbling and Mercury’s entrance in Capricorn is also facilitating us to think with big long term ambitions and be aware of what we building. Mercury communicates with our goals and relays the information it has for us about what we need to do on the macro and micro levels.
There is a Black Moon Lilith and Vesta conjunction in the sign of eccentric Aquarius bringing up the sassy and saucy question: How can my inner Bitch be of service to the collective? Black Moon Lilith is not nice in her wild nature. Vesta is the inner sovereign being within. So how can I unapologetically break free from the norm in order to do what needs to be done to build an entirely new world that actually fucking works for all beings?
Aquarius is highly humanitarian so this influence of Vesta and Black Moon Lilith reminds us of the multitude of difference expressions each different individual can take on and how we need something to manifest that is truly more inclusive. This conjunction reminds us that we are tired and bored of being boxed in my something or someone and crave liberation. It’s this interesting combination of collective consciousness mixed with selfish desire.
The best way I can describe this is by highlighting my own Lilith. I have Lilith and Vesta conjunct in Leo in the 11th House of Community and Humanitarianism - the house that is linked to Aquarius energy. I often say that I just want for everyone to be safe to express, feel taken care of and have their needs met so I can move through the world with less fucking bullshit - so I can go out and not actually hate everyone because people are just more fulfilled because they aren’t worrying about bullshit. I really feel this way. And guess what - it’s a feeling and belief that DOES work for everyone in the long run.
So we’ve got a bit of that running through this Eclipse energy too! So fuck yeah to that to circle back to when shit gets overwhelming.
Major lessons are being learned this week and if we Sober up - we can allow the mystical and the material to merge together even more as we continue on the crazy transition our collective is going through.
May this Solar Eclipse ignite the mechanics to set in motion the bigger dreams and goals we’ve been sitting patiently upon and may it be the wake up call we’ve been secretly praying for.
