Earlier this week we talked about the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra which was all about bringing radical change in the areas of relationship and pleasure.
I know I had a doozy of a week; I felt very drained and had trouble sleeping (I have Libra as my Rising sign).
And about a day after the moon, 2 of the psychic hunches I got manifested within a few hours of each other. Both having to do with my relationship to how I view the world and witnessing how far I've come in how I show up in relation to others.
There was an eclipse in September and this was the last series in Libra for a while, for me, something that happened in September came back into view 6 months later for this cosmic event, which is so typical Eclipse behavior! You can't make this stuff up!
How was the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse for you??
So as promised in my last post I wanted to share with you a ritual I began to do called a "Dream Box"!
No, it's not a place I put all my hopes and dreams a-la Law of Attraction style. Been there, done that.
Nope this is a box concentrated on having delightful night time dreams. When you are a Sensitive Witch (aka Highly Sensitive)...you tend to have very intense nighttime dreams. Most every HSP I speak to tells me as such and lord knows every night it's a circus in my head.
Sometimes I wake up feeling hungover having had several intense dreams in a row. Even when I don't sleep long, they can happen like rapid fire.
Lately, I've become increasingly curious about how I can make the most of these dreams. Sometimes they are just seemingly random scenarios and then other times I can't help but believe there is something my subconscious is trying to tell me (repeating themes etc.)
If you're reading this right now, I know you can relate to that!
I'm no lucid dreaming expert, but I will share with you a ritual that has worked for me and really helps bring intention to my dreams.
Step 1) Pick out a box of sorts that will be your dream box, it should be small enough to fit on your nightstand but big enough to fit a few items easily. REALLY look for something that makes you feel dreamy and connected. I prefer a glass display box because I like to see the pretty contents and for me the symbolism there is clarity. Here is mine:
Step 2) Place items inside that bring you joy:
- it could be a feather
- a piece of jewelry
- a particular crystal that you feel really connected to (I adore sleeping with Labradorite near me, it helps with intuition and dreaming), etc.
- something associate with the season we are in
Step 3) On a piece of paper write down any intentions you have for your dream time:
- do you want to dream of a particular person or thing?
- would you like to connect with your guides?
- would you like a question(s) to be answered?
Place that paper inside of your box. Make sure to have a pen near your bed to record anything that comes to you in your dreams in the morning or if you wake up (You can also use an app on your phone which is what I do!)
Step 4) Add anything else you would like to bring to your dreams:
- Is there incense or room spray you love? I have this amazing essential oil spray from Modern Ritual NYC that I like to spray before bed so I keep it near or in my Dream Box.
- Do you like to pull tarot cards before bed? Perhaps put them inside or around the box to bring that reading into your dreams.
- Flowers? A gift? you get the idea!
Step 5) Go to sleep (easier said than done, I know haha)...when you wake up just take note of how you feel and what you remember, you can write it on the same piece of paper you wrote your questions on or in your dream journal or app.
You can change up the contents of your Dream Box based on how you feel and what your current intentions are, you can bring Astrology and the Cosmos into it as well by paying attention to the moon cycles and focusing on a theme to your dreams based on that.
The possibilities are numerous with this and it's a super easy, fun and quick ritual to do!
Try not to get attached to getting an answer or receiving anything specific. Dreams are fun and this is meant for you to consciously pay attention to your subconscious and create a closer connection to that space to bring into your daytime life and dreaming.
This process has definitely made me much more aware of my dreams, and like I said earlier...my Intuitive hits have been much stronger, even when I'm not receiving clear as day answers during my dreams...the feeling, the sense and the evidence is popping up in real time!
Here's a sneak peak inside my Dream Box (that's the Labradorite sphere on the right I was telling you about):
