To Heal simply means to become Whole.
To Heal means to Integrate.
To Heal means to surrender your Disembodiment.
To Heal means to be sick and still be whole.
To Heal does not mean there’s a Broken thing to fix.
To Heal means to Synthesize.
So why is it that we don’t allow ourselves, people, society proper time to heal? Why is that we rush it? Why is that we are uncomfortable when someone announces they are taking time to focus upon their healing, and only that? Why is that we judge the desire to Heal in a very dilerbate way? Why is that we only allow certain time frames for it? Why is that we start wondering what so and so is actually doing with themselves? Why is that we are so harsh and demanding of our bodies, and souls, and minds to hurry up and get on with it? Why do we expect everyone to Heal in the same time frame?
Why don’t we give ourselves or anyone else permission to fucking HEAL?
It’s a question that I asked myself outloud earlier today and even recorded the answer that came in real time which is as follows:
“We don’t let people heal because fear they will not be productive members of society. We fear that in their healing they won’t be able to make us money in some way or be a good consumer.”
We do not allot healing time becuase to be healed means to become whole, and a whole person unto themselves is dangerous and not easily fooled by the mass capitalist programming anymore. We guilt them into returning too quickly, because often times true Healing takes far more time than you could ever really estimate.
We interrupt the healing process because we fear people will not produce and consumer in the manner we want them to and therefore have the potential to rewire the entire system and how it operates. We are afraid of the synthesis of power within a spiritual human being. “Healed” people are dangerous and powerful. So we create scenarois where we facilitate the splitting apart of oneself and each other.
To be clear, to feel the need for healing does not mean to be broken or to need fixing. I am not promoting any of that jargon here.
To activate healing (imo) really just means to start and continue the process of calling any of your disembodied energies back to the center of your being and being soverign over all your beautiful bits. (You CAN be “sick” and be Whole.) This is a process of synthesis that takes skill, time, attention and mostly compassion.
The Full Moon in Virgo stands alone, soverign, like a luminious orb of condensed focus that we can’t ignore.
So what does any of what I’m saying have to do with the Full Moon in Virgo? Well, what I shared above are various attributes associate with the VIrgo archetype, among other things.
Virgo is often known to be the sign that encourges the cultivating of skills that will be of service to the world in some way, it’s about being useful in a tangible pratical manner (usually driven by some spiritual desire, even if the Virgo person doesn’t “know” it). Virgo is associated with health and wellbeing so therefore the body too. Virgo is associated with honing in on the details and organizing all the things in order to help the overall process work more cohesively. Virgo energy has to know there is a purpose to the work it’s creating in the world otherwise it will become restless, overwhelmed and scattered and disinterested. Virgo must be driven to produce and serve by this sense of purpose. Such is Virgo’s moral code; the work and service rendered must have some meaning to the service provider. Virgo is thrilled with results and evidence for it loves to assess and analyze by nature. Virgo is also very well known as the perfectionist of the zodiac, for it’s always working on making improvements and refining things. Virgo being orientated to problem solve and find what needs to be better, has a great opportunity to see the perfection amongst the flaw, and therefore access real unconfitional love. These are some of the most well known descriptions of Virgo. She is also assoicated with The Virgin archetype, which brings us full circle back to a sense of wholeness and purity.
But there’s a bit of a deeper story behind Virgo, that I feel needs to be told at this Full Moon.
Astrologer Demetra George wrote this about Virgo “In Virgo, the reproductive energy of Venus (the general feminine archetype) is used spiritually to transform and regenerate the Self so that it may become a channel of serve and healing.” Meaning sexual energy (which is an aroused creative energy through which magic is made) is focused and utilized for personal integration and wholeness.
Virgo being connected to the Virgin, really is about being soverign unto oneself, belonging to no one. Virgin does not mean prude, unpentrated or nonsexual and chaste. The orginal origin of this word, Virgin literally means to “one-in-herself”. Who knows why the meaning changed over all these centuries, but I’m sure the monotheisitc patriarchal religions had nothing to do with it (that’s sarcasm if you didn’t catch it).
There is a Goddess Asteroid that helps us refine the process of self integration and her name is Vesta, Goddess of the Hearth. So yes, like the Vestal Virgins. The Vestal Virgins in ancient Rome watched over the sacred eternal flame of the city, making sure it was always lit and would perform associated rituals. There was an intense focus needed for this. These Priestesses did not have to conform to the typical life of a feminine being in that era. They were devoted to tending to the flame as opposed to bearing children and being married. (Make no mistake though, Ancient Rome was still ancient rome and being a Vestal Priestess was not all beautiful sacredness either; we use mythology and history to illuminate specific archetypes and parts of our psyche). Thus Vesta provides for us a centeredness, a focus, a devotion, a discipline, a skill, an opportunity to understand oneself and our purpose. Vesta helps us access the channels of our spiritual focus and that which we would deem our “calling” or “purpose” of service.
When we reach the sign of Virgo we are entering a process of perfecting and integrating the self. Virgo is the first of the transformative signs (Libra and Scorpio the other two) When Virgo season comes through each August/September we experience the New Moon there, so go back to September 2017 and look at the new intentions you set calling upon this Virgo energy to support you.
At this Full Moon now we now take a magnifying glass to how well our process in becomone Whole has went this year. We ask what we’ve synthesized within ourselves what more and what has resulted for us in this process? We reflect upon what feels more healed than it did before. We reflect upon what has come up from the shadows for our healing touch. We reflect upon how we used our sacred flame to serve. We reflect upon how well WE have served our own sacred flame through the work we’ve provided. We reflect upon how our bodies have communicated with us, and how we have communicated with it. Is there a better dialogue now? Is there a understanding of language? Are we fulfilled on a daily basis?
We celebrate each improvement. We celebrate each return to wholeness no matter how small. We celebrate the healing that has occured, because there is always a healing.
Since the New Moon in Virgo 6 months ago we have likely dissected, named, and reogranzied our identities several times. Espeically if you are someone with a strong Virgo placement.
We may have driven ourselves crazy by being so meticulous about this. But the only way to start a healing process is to name it first.
A collective example of this our current call out culture. We are relentlessly identifying racisim, sexism, inequality, gun control etc. Left and right there is a lot of name calling. A lot of times you have to name the thing in order to heal it and transform it, and that is a process that is happening right now. No matter how anger inducing it can become, this is what is going on. We are identifying the problems that have been hiding out, and there are numerous little ones everywhere and may we all start to have some respect for this very human process. May we make some major leway in this healing as this Full Moon washes over our psyches.
This could be quite the possibility as this Full Moon makes a lovely swing of a trine over to Black Moon Lilith (the integrated feminist rebel here to fuck up the patriarch using anger as an inspiration) and Saturn ( bringer of lessons, structure, time and hard work) in Capricorn. BML and Saturn in Capricorn are teaching us this whole revolution thing is tough and it has to have a plan, a purpose, and intention or we will keep getting knocked on our butt until it does. Cap has high standards. So does Virgo for that matter. This trine from the Full Moon may lovingly bitch slap some of those people who are lagging behind in changing their old belief systems based on preconceived opinions. For the rest of us whom have already been deprogramming ourselves from the fuckery, we may rededicate and refocus ourselves once more as we have refined our beliefs as we’ve learned more about ourselves and connected dots to the greater collective.
The other aspect that’s happening at this Full Moon is the opposition to the Sun and Neptune conjunct in Pisces. Pisces and Virgo need each other. Pisces is the mystery, the mystical, the subconcious under water world we sense but can only imagine in our minds eye. Virgo is of the Earth, the material, the practical, the centeredness of a daily ritual and life. They breathe life to each other in this way. And yet, we may feel at odds with ourselves and with the world. One part of us aching to have concrete evidence and answers to explain things (Virgo). One part of us wanting to escape reality all together (Pisces/Neptune). This is a struggle I get. I have my Natal Moon in Virgo in the 12th house, the house associated with Pisces. There will be a longing to take what we see in our minds eye, the poetry, the lush visuals and symbols and translate them into something one can see, sense, touch, hear, smell. We may become highly frustrated if we feel we are blocked in that way (::raises hand::). We’ve all been there before though, and yet, this Full Moon serves as a message to try and release our resistence and fear over these two dichotomies coexhisiting in harmony, without either having to sacrifice their sense of purpose.
Goddess Asteroid, Pallas Athene also makes an appearance with this Full Moon, also making a trine to it from her transit in grounded Taurus. Taurus is another Earth sign that is quite practical and focused on material security. Pallas Athene represents Creative Intelligence ( seek out Demetra George’s work to find out more about Goddess Asteriods). There will likely be something about money coming through, and a desire to be in integrity with it’s origin. A desire for it to have purpose as well. And there may be a little shine coming through, showing us creative ways in which we can do this. For instance, it’s been highly suggested to me that I start a Patreon account, which I’m considering as a creative and aligned way to welcome in additional income.
Vesta, whom I mentioned earlier as an integral part in helping us embody Virgo, is currently transiting the sign of Sagittarius which is a belief oritentated, knowledge seeking, expansive adventurer. She also happens to be conjunct Mars, the warrior. So there is a lot of spiritual heat, there’s a lot of belief examination coming up, and a lot of conversation around where our energy is best directed. The illumination of a spiritual quest in relation to being of service and taking action among the real world is quite strong.
At the time of this Full Moon, these two planetary bodies (Vesta and Mars) will make a fierce square to Mercury (Virgo’s ruler) Mercury is currently in Pisces, and hanging out with Venus, Chiron and Pisces. ALL that Pisces energy is creating an emotional, fluid, imaginative theme rise up to the surface of the waters we are treading. Pisces is also quite the spiritually orientated sign, but it’s incredibly mystical and cosmic and more subtle. Vesta meeting up with Mars can create a lot of focused energy BUT we have to be careful to not to get carried away that we become self righteous. This square to all that Pisces energy throws a bit of a wrench into things as we can either become focused upon something not mentally or emotionally healthy, we can become over zealous, we can become hyper stressed about our healing process or spiritual journey, or we can struggle with finding our pleasure and worthiness in relationship to work and service. Be reminded that these things are rearing up so that they may be said Hello to and provide wisdom about what is truly important and valuable to us. Each trigger is a calling to find some Wholeness in yourself once more. We are walking many worlds right now as Mercury communicates with many different archetypes at this Full Moon.
The very LAST aspect that I was to call upon is the EXACT gorgeous trine between Venus in Pisces to Jupiter in Scorpio. So yes, Venus in Pisces is hanging with Merc, Chiron etc. BUT she’s the one giving a HUGE Hello to generous Jupiter directly. Jupiter has been in Scorpio since October of last year, creating a massive focus upon alchemy, sexual energy, truthful intimacy, finaces, legacies, the shadow self, and power dynamics. It’s been a doozy so far with all the bullshit coming to light about sexual misconduct, all the shady business dealings, all the lies we’ve been told by the powers that be (aka the government and the media) the false intimacy we’ve created online.
A lot has come up. Venus in Pisces is having a good time swimming in those feels. Venus in Pisces is about creative flow, about seeking pleasureable experiences within our own imaginations, about embracing our ability to be magenetic and attractive, and about finding our deepest wells of self worth that have gone untainted no matter what chaos or pain has touched us.
The Venus Jupiter trine may bring some relief and ease so the intense Full Moon energies, and the very stimulating chats Mercury is having. These two together get what they want, they do it with charm. And considering the signs they are in, they could do so with the type of subtle power that feels like sheer witchcraft. These are two allies that may help us manifest some of what Virgo desires; real tangible results. For Venus loves the finer things in Life, and Jupiter adores success and adventure.
They may give us the courage to move towards experiences that will reflect back to us something that shows us we are on the right track. With this being such a strong aspect it will likely linger into the weekend, making it a gorgeous supporter of fun but intimate date nights, with yourself or with another. Anything that stirs your heart and emotions, that makes you want to create immediately will be even more enhanced around this time. It can be a great time for actually bonding within romantic relationships, expressing your needs and desire, hopes and dreams for the future. This is generally highly favored and a lucky aspect as both Venus and Jupiter deal with money. That being said, also beaware of spending money you don’t have…trines can get excessive like that. I pretty much feel this aspect as being a blanket of hope and faith hugging this Full Moon in Virgo.
Remember, this Virgo Full Moon is here to challenge our conversation and relationship to Healing.
To see Healing as a process of integrating our Wholeness.
Wholeness is a powerful weapon. If you look around you will see all the ways in which we are encouraged to remain disembodied for the benefit of a system that is painfully fucked up. To be Whole means you’re harder to lie to. To be Whole means you’re more willing and inspired to change outdated unfair programming.
My Full Moon wish for you is to imagine a world where we actually allowed each other the time and space to truly fucking heal and access our inherit wholeness. If the only production levels we worried about where the how well ones embodiment was progressing. Imagine what could be created from this space.
My wish for you is that you learn to respect your pace and embrace that your healing to wholeness is a sacred ritual worthy of your devotion.
My wish for you is to truly believe that your Wholeness is a powerful Force that will create real time movement among our human existence.
My wish for all is that we just let people fucking Heal.
Hell Hath No Fury like the Healed & Whole.
in love and witchcraft,
